| For salmon produced by the artificial propagation in Japan,
we collect the following biological data and compile them as the Salmon
Database: rearing records of salmon from egg collection to release in hatcheries,
ecological and environmental data for juvenile salmon during the coastal
residency, ecological aspects of returning adult salmon in coastal waters,
salmon fishery catches in coastal waters and rivers, genetic characteristics
of salmon populations. These data are widely utilized as basic information
for the international management of salmon resources, prompt reports of
salmon fishery, and coastal environmental reports during the release
season of salmon. |
