The purpose of this section is to study the dynamics of
the fishery and market of domestic salmon that is one of the most important
resources in northern Japan from both economic and social standpoints. The
first step of this study is to clarify the optimal production for the market
scale of domestic salmon. The second step is to clarify the mechanism of
the distribution system for the domestic salmon market. The third step is
to clarify the economic factors and management conditions for the stable
relations between supply and demand of salmon in the Japanese fish market.
The final outcome of this section is to develop the management strategy
for fishery production of Japanese salmon resource maintained by hatchery
enhancement.
